Valiant's "Optiloopä " - Digital Loop Carrier system, (Fiber-to-theCurb) is a state-of-the-art Fiber In the Local Loop equipment designed in conformity to the ITU (CCITT) specifications that has all the features and functions that are essential in a "Network Access Product".

Valiant's Optiloop provides Voice, Data and ISDN services from the same product.

Optiloop also provides exceptionally economical solution for providing a combination of fiber and / or copper transmissions.

PRODUCT OVERVIEW:

Valiant's Optiloop™ Digital Loop Carier equipment is a total access solution on optical fiber cable network. It is optimized for operating on an integrated 34Mbps SDH compatible optical fiber interface, and can be directly synchronized into an STM-1 optical fiber ring. Optionally, Optiloop also comes with a 34Mbps ready "Digital Radio" Interface for microwave radio operation.

Optiloop is designed on the modular concept which gives it the flexibility to fit into a most demanding networking environments. It gives the service provider the option to add subscribers and services as the demand requires. It incorporates the dictum "add as you grow", by which the service provider may add channels and services by simply adding hardware as the need arises.

Optiloop is also designed to satisfy the requirements of rural and other low-density telephone service providers.

CONFIGURATIONS:

Optiloopä is a very flexible system that allows the service provider to customize the product to meet a wide variety of subscriber loop applications demanded by today’s competitive environment.

Optiloop can be deployed in a 120 line, 240 line or 480 line configurations. The service provider can initially deploy a 120 line configuration and then grow it to a 480 line system.

SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE:

Optiloopä uses a standard DIN 6U, 19 inch shelf for housing the Mux and Optical Interface with the Order Wire unit. It also houses the OAM (Operation and Maintenance Card) for system monitoring and control.

The Channel Cards and the Control Cards are housed in standard DIN 6U, 19 inch shelves. Also available in DIN 3U, 19 inch shelves.

Each 19 inch, 6U shelf accommodates Voice Frequency, Data or Basic Rate ISDN Channels. Each Channel Card accommodates 8 VF subscribers. This shelf also accommodates the Power Supply Card.

Provisioning, inventory, traffic management and alarm reporting is available on a system per channel basis through local or remote access on a PC using a RS 232 interface. The maintenance software offers a Windowsä type dialog box to the user for easy operation.

The system can be deployed in a tree, star or in point-to-point configurations.

ISP SERVICES:

Internet Service Providers (ISPs) are one of the fastest growing segments in the telecom business. Requiring a few high powered computers and modems, ISPs can start managing websites from a Small Office / Home Office (SoHo) environment. The flexible VCL-120 can quickly add up to 120 lines at a SoHo application, using copper already deployed to the home/office and can be easily be moved to other locations, if required. The VCL-120 on wheels is very flexible and mobile.

Valiant also presents its latest next generation STM-1 / STM-4 SDH Multutiplexers with E1, E3, E4, STM-1e, STM-1o & 10/100 Mbps ethernet tributaries.

Valiant also offers two other products based on fiber optic transmission technology and applications.

Valiant's VCL, E3-OLTE is a 34Mbps Optical Line Transmission Equipment which multiplexes / demultiplexes 16, 2Mbps E1 electrical tributaries into a 34Mbps optical stream, transmitting on a 1310nm (1500nm optional) optical fiber cable to establish an optical transmission link between locations. The VCL E3, OLTE conforms to all the applicable G.703, G.823, G.821, G.955, G.652 and G.654 ITU-T (CCITT) recommendations.

Available with 1+1 optical protection (redundancy). The VCL-E3 OLTE is powered by STM-1 grade Class I Laser - by Lucent Technologies, Inc.

The optical link, between two OLTE terminals is established on one pair of optical fiber. One fiber link is used for Transmit and the other fiber link is used for Receive. A complete optical line transmission system comprises of two OLTE terminals one at each end of the optical fiber cable.

  • Powered by STM-1 grade Class I Laser - by Lucent Technologies, Inc.
  • Available with the option of 1+1 Optical Redundancy (Protection Switching).

Valiant's VCL-E2, 8Mb/s Optical Line Transmission and 2/8 Mbps Digital Multiplexer. The VCL E2, Optimux, multiplexes / demultiplexes 4, E1 channels and transports it on optical fiber cable. The 8Mb/s Optical Line Terminal and 2/8 Mb/s Digital Multiplexer are implemented in a single card, as a integrated solution. This equipment by-passes the 8MB Electrical Output to directly provide an optical output (laser - 30dbm margin) for the multiplexed 4, E1 channels and vice versa. This product is available in a 5 system ETSI, 19-inch shelf version, and also in a singular stand-alone shelf configuration (2U, 19-inch rack mount shelf).
