Groomers - E1 and T1, Non-Intrusive Hi-Impedance Monitoring Solutions.

Suitable for bi-directional monitoring of 16, 32 and 64, E1 and T1 links.

Valiant offers a wide range of E1 and T1 Groomers for non-intrusive monitoring applications. The VCL-MegaConnect, E1 and T1, Hi-Z Monitoring Groomers may be used for non-intrusive monitoring of "live" E1 and T1 traffic links, non-intrusively, through a high impedance monitoring point on a patch panel or a DDF. The equipment also allows the user to groom the selected time-slots carrying the monitored data to selected E1 or T1 normal impedance ports which can be connected to protocol analysers, probes, test equipment, billing servers etc.

Solutions offered and available for Hi-z Non-Intrusive Monitoring applications are:

  • The 16 E1 and T1 Port Groomer for monitoring upto 7 E1 / T1 links (with 14 E1 / T1  receivers), and additionally offers plus 2 E1 / T1 ports (Normal-Z) to connect the groomed time-slots to measurement-probes, protocol analysers, billing servers etc.
  • The 32 E1 and T1 Port Groomer for monitoring upto 16 E1 links (with 32 E1 / T1 receivers and offers additionally 4 E1 / T1 ports (Normal-Z) to connect the groomed time-slots to measurement-probes, protocol analysers, billing servers etc.
  • The 64 E1 and T1 Port Plus Groomer for monitoring provides upto 32 E1 / T1 links (64 E1 / T1 Ports) plus 16 additional spare E1 / T1 ports (Normal-Z) to connect to the measurement-probe, billing servers etc.

T1 - 64 Port Plus - T1 Groomer Provides upto 32 T1 links (64 T1 Hi-z Ports) plus 16 additional T1 ports (Normal-Z) to connect to the measurement probe, billing servers etc. Data Sheet (PDF)

In all of the above groomers, the E1 or T1 receivers connect to the E1 or T1 "Live Traffic" links which are to be monitored, non-intrusively (Hi-Z) in both transmit and receive directions. The additional normal impedance E1 or T1 ports shall connect the groomed time-slots to measurement-probes, protocol analysers, billing servers etc.

The Groomers (E1 or T1 Monitoring Cross-Connects) are specially designed for non-intrusive monitoring applications and are capable of monitoring a very low signal of upto -20dBdsx (0.3Volt Pulse) E1 or T1 signal through a Hi-Z path from a patch-panel or a DDF, without in any way distrubing the "live" E1 (or T1) traffic that is required to be monitored. The E1 connector(s) shall be RJ45 (120 Ohms). The T1 connector(s) shall be RJ45 (100 Ohms).

The user is offered full flexibility to choose and select the time-slots which are required to be monitored in "both" Transmit and Receive direction, through the internal TSI non-blocking switch, from any of the E1/T1 ports that are required to be monitored and also groom the selected time-slots to the normal impedance E1 or T1 ports that shall connect to measurement-probes, protocol analysers, billing servers etc.
