Optiloop is designed on the modular concept which gives it
the flexibility to fit into a most demanding networking environments. It gives the service
provider the option to add subscribers and services as the demand requires. It
incorporates the dictum "add as you grow", by which the service provider
may add channels and services by simply adding hardware as the need arises.
Optiloop is also designed to satisfy the requirements of
rural and other low-density telephone service providers.
Configurations
Optiloopä is a very flexible system that allows the service provider to
customize the product to meet a wide variety of subscriber loop applications demanded by
todays competitive environment.
Optiloop can be deployed in a 120 line, 240 line or 480 line
configurations. The service provider can initially deploy a 120 line configuration and
then grow it to a 480 line system.
System Architecture
Optiloopä uses a standard DIN 6U, 19 inch shelf for housing the Mux and Optical
Interface with the Order Wire unit. It also houses the OAM (Operation and Maintenance
Card) for system monitoring and control.
The Channel Cards and the Control Cards are housed in
standard DIN 6U, 19 inch shelves. Also available in DIN 3U, 19 inch
shelves.
Each 19 inch, 6U shelf accommodates Voice Frequency, Data or
Basic Rate ISDN Channels. Each Channel Card accommodates 8 VF subscribers. This shelf also
accommodates the Power Supply Card.
Provisioning, inventory, traffic management and alarm
reporting is available on a system per channel basis through local or remote access on a
PC using a RS 232 interface. The maintenance software offers a Windowsä type dialog box to the user for easy
operation.
The system can be deployed in a tree, star or in
point-to-point configurations.

ISP Services
Internet Service Providers (ISPs) are one of the fastest
growing segments in the telecom business. Requiring a few high powered computers and
modems, ISPs can start managing websites from a Small Office / Home Office (SoHo)
environment. The flexible VCL-120 can quickly add up to 120 lines at a SoHo application,
using copper already deployed to the home/office and can be easily be moved to other
locations, if required. The VCL-120 on wheels is very flexible and mobile.
