Valiant introduces its VCL-3000 compact, versatile IEC-61850-3 compliant Data Concentrator Unit (DCU) which may be used to build Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) and Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) architectures to collect information and data from multiple meters and forward the data to the power utility.

The VCL-3000 can securely aggregate data from a manageable number of meters and relay the information to the centralized utility servers. The VCL-3030, meets and complies with the IEC-61850-3, EMI, EMC, surge and temperature specifications making it suitable for sub-station installations to provide uninterrupted service even in the most demanding and harsh environments.

-101 to -104 Protocol Converter Application:

The most common application for the VCL-3030, -101 to -104 Protocol Converter is for augmenting legacy IEC 60870-5-101 RTUs that provide serial -101 data in sub-stations and SCADA data networks. By simply installing a VCL-3030, -101 to -104 Protocol Converter the existing IEC 60870-5-101 RTUs can be upgraded to Ethernet based IEC 60870-5-104 RTUs without incurring a large capex and without the tiresome task of having to rewire the RTUs that require upgradation. VCL-SafeComm-E is a family of Ethernet Link Protection Switches that provide 1+1 Automatic Ethernet Failover Protection between an "active” and "standby" equipment or IP networks. VCL-SafeComm-E is available in 2 variants.

VCL-SafeComm-F provides 1+1 Automatic Ethernet Failover Protection between two (Main and Standby) Servers, RTUs, Routers, Switches. The VCL-SafeComm-F can be used to provide equipment redundancy for applications which require 99.99% up-time. The VCL-SafeComm-F automatic fail-over protection automatically switches to the “standby” equipment in the event of failure of the “primary” equipment to ensure that the 99.99% up-time requirements are always being met. In the event of failure of the “primary / working” equipment, the VCL-SafeComm-F, Ethernet Failover Switch shall automatically switch and reroute all Cables to "secondary” / “standby" equipment. This ensures that downtime that would have otherwise occurred upon the failure of the “primary” equipment without automatic Ethernet failover capability, never occurs.

VCL-SafeComm-N, which provides 1+1 Automatic Ethernet Failover Protection between 2, IP Networks. The VCL-SafeComm-N can be used to provide link protection between IP networks across diverse domains such as fiber-radio; or fiber-satellite; or fiber-PSDN (Public Switched Data Network) to provide automatic fail-over protection to the “standby” network in the event of failure of the “primary” network.

VCL-SafeComm-N, Ethernet Network Protection Switch shall automatically switch and reroute all Ethernet traffic to "secondary” / “standby" IP network in the event of the failure of the “active” / “primary” network. Valiant introduces a solution for “Improvement in Mobile Network Performance & Reduced Call Drops

Frequent call drops and increasingly poor mobile network performance due to lack of adequate cell-site synchronization has led to wide scale customer dissatisfaction due to poor quality of service, leading to loss of revenue for “Mobile Operators”. The licensing authorities have expressed the possibility of the levy of penalties on erring service providers that do not address the issue and improve the level of their services.

Valiant has introduced its range of Frequency, Phase and the Time synchronization range of products with its GPS / GNSS based Primary Reference Clock with integrated IEEE-1588v2 PTP Grandmaster and NTP Server for installation at cell-sites to provide a comprehensive solution which shall improve “Mobile Network Performance” and “Reduce Call Drops”.

Valiant’s solution includes a ITU-T G.811 Primary Reference Clock for cell-sites so that an independent reference clock is available at cell sites to provide a phase synchronized Primary Reference Clock that is within a +/-0.005ppm (i.e. which is 10 times better than the required) network tolerance. These advanced techniques of network synchronization will be able to support not only support 4G LTE networks (10 times faster than 3G) but also newly developing 5G standard (5th generation mobile networks or 5th generation wireless systems).

The Valiant solution will be able to provide Frequency, Phase and the Time synchronization solutions for all types of mobile networks and technologies to meet the synchronization requirements of, and to service all types of mobile communication networks in existence, today.

Valiant has also recently successfully completed Synchronization Audit for Ericsson India at 2 sites in Assam for improvement in Mobile Network Performance. IEEE 1588v2 Solutions for Stock and Currency Trading Platforms
The dictum can be applied absolutely literally to electronic trading platforms – since significant quantities of stocks and currencies are bought and sold microseconds apart at differing rates. Financial Regulators all over the world, realizing this need, are now requiring all share trading platforms to use IEEE-1588v2 technology to synchronize to a GPS / GNSS based time-source with micro-second accuracy so that buy and sell orders can be executed with precision according to their time-stamp.

Accurate and precise time stamping is required for compliance with financial regulatory mandates such as the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 (SOX), the FTC's Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), FINRA's Order Audit Trail System (OATS) and the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). The 2015 European Securities and Markets Authority MiFID II regulation requires clock accuracy and granularity in stock trading to have a time-stamp accuracy of better than 100 microseconds to UTC with a granularity of 1 microsecond.
