VCL-GPS Primary Reference Clock, IEEE-1588v2 PTP Grandmaster , Time and Frequency Receiver, Synchronization solution with NTP Server

VCL-GPS, Primary Reference Clock with IEEE-1588v2 PTP (Precision Time Protocol) Grandmaster Synchronization Receiver is a high precision, yet cost efficient, time and frequency synchronization solution which provides 1 PPS and can be used to synchronize the time-of-day and frequency across all nodes of the network (using IEEE-1588v2 Master-Slave protocol) from a GPS referenced source. The product supports an integrated, high bandwidth NTP Server engine. Multiple IRIG-B Outputs are provided to synchronize local clock displays as well as RTUs to a central timing source with nano-second accuracy.


Applications include synchronization of 2G, 3G and LTE mobile telecommunications networks as well as backhaul wireline SDH / SONET and Synchronous Ethernet networks. It may be also used by Railways, Airports (including Air-Traffic Control), Power Generation / distribution companies and other Utility companies who not only require a highly precise time-of-day and frequency synchronization locked to a GPS Reference but who also need to distribute highly precise time-of-day and frequency synchronization across all nodes of their networks.

The equipment provides a G.811 / Stratum 1 quality synchronization (GPS locked) reference while providing multiple time (IRIG-B) and frequency outputs that are usually required by the users of such equipment.

The VCL-GPS, GPS Receiver is equipped with an integrated GPS receiver and a highly accurate, low-noise OCXO / Rubidium oscillator which provides a high stability holdover quality typical of an SSU in the eventuality of the GPS signal or its antenna failure.


The Grandmaster Clock supports IEEE-1588 PTP Version 2 and delivers nano-second time and frequency synchronization for customer network environment. VCL PTP Grandmaster Clocks not only provides a highly accurate source of synchronization for PTP networks and also provide ToD (Time-of-Day) and Frequency Synchronization. Supported options include IRIG-B, 1 PPS, NMEA, 1/5/10MHz, 2.048MHz, 2.048Mbits clock outputs. OCXO and Rubidium Holdover Clock options are available.


PTP Slave Clocks (IEEE-1588v2) devices simplify the migration towards PTP IEEE-1588v2 by providing a wide range of legacy time synchronization outputs. The PTP IEEE-1588v2 Slave Clocks are synchronized to a PTP Grandmaster and can be used as a timing synchronization source for equipment that requires IRIG, PPS, 1/5/10MHz or E1/T1 telecom carrier signals.

VCL-2424, Pole Mount Primary Reference Clock (PRC), IEEE-1588v2 PTP Grandmaster, NTP Server is a ruggedized GNSS (GPS/GLONASS), ITU-T G.811 compliant solution to provide a highly precise time and frequency reference outputs. Applications include synchronization of 2G, 3G, 4G / LTE, 5G services in harsh, un-protected, outdoor environments, such as to mobile cell towers.

It may be also used by railways and metro signaling infrastructure, airports and air-traffic control facilities, solar farms, wind-farms, electric sub-stations, power distribution infrastructure, off-shore oil and gas rigs and naval vessels that are required to operate in complete isolation due to the very nature of their application, geographical location, or due to security reasons.

VCL-2424 establishes a highly accurate phase-synchronized frequency and time base by synchronizing to the GNSS (GPS/GLONASS) satellites' atomic clocks to distribute synchronized time over packet based networks including Ethernet, Carrier Ethernet, IP and IP/MPLS Networks.

GPS Primary Reference Clock and IEEE-1588v2 PTP Grandmaster Clock, NTP Server (IPv4 and IPv6). Provides IRIG-B, 1PPS, NMEA, 1/5/10MHz, 2.048MHz, 2.048Mbits, 1.544Mbits GPS referenced clock outputs. OCXO and Rubidium Holdover Clock options available.

VCL-2145, Primary Reference Clock with IEEE-1588v2 PTP Grandmaster and NTP Server is a high precision, multi-service, cost efficient time and frequency synchronization solution which can be used to provide ITU-T, G.811 reference frequencies which are referenced to a GPS source, as well as to synchronize the time-of-day and frequency across multiple nodes of the network. The VCL-GPS Receiver has an integrated, high bandwidth NTP Server engine that is capable of handling up to 6000 NTP requests per second. Multiple IRIG-B Outputs are also provided to synchronize local clock (time-of-day) display units as well as RTUs to a central timing source with nanosecond accuracy.

Dual GNSS Primary Reference Clock with IEEE-1588v2 PTP Grandmaster and NTP

VCL-2145 (VCL-2145-D) is a high-performance, GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) Primary Reference Clock that provides ITU-T G.811 Primary Synchronization Frequency References which are locked to a user selected GNSS (GPS-GLONASS-SBAS) Satellite source.

The VCL-2145 (VCL-2145-D) Satellite Receiver also has an integrated, high bandwidth NTP Server engine that is capable of handling up to 4500 NTP requests per second. Multiple IRIG-B Outputs are also provided to synchronize local clock (time-of-day) display units as well as RTUs to a central timing source with nanosecond accuracy.
